(Sufjan) Stevens, composer Nico Muhly, and the National member Bryce Dessner have been commissioned by the Dutch concert hall Muziekgebouw Eindhoven to write a song cycle for seven trombones and a string quartet. The resulting music will be performed on April 7, 2012 in the venue.
