Original Art (That-Hatland) - [link]

As a Salvador Dali´s fan I love surreal art and I used to made a lot of surreal things a long time ago. When I saw this draw I just fall in love. In Brazil we have a quote that say "Oque os olhos não vêm, o coração não sente" that means "What eyes can´t see, the heart can´t fell", based on it I tried to paint this confused fellling.

Please show some love on That-Hatland profile and I hope you all like it!

I Met the Walrus - Levitan Meets Lennon (animated short)

(Thanx Hesta Prynn)

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan snuck into John Lennon's hotel room in Toronto and convinced him to do an interview. 38 years later, Levitan, director Josh Raskin and illustrators James Braithwaite and Alex Kurina have collaborated to create an animated short film using the original interview recording as the soundtrack. A spellbinding vessel for Lennon's boundless wit and timeless message, I Met the Walrus was nominated for the 2008 Academy Award for Animated Short and won the 2009 Emmy for 'New Approaches' (making it the first film to win an Emmy on behalf of the internet).

He Doesn't Love You... by *bobbyzeik

He Doesn't Love You... by *bobbyzeik
this is the first piece of a new series i'm working on. it was inspired by the anger and frustration i would get whenever i would see a bumper sticker that read "Marriage = Man +Woman" and things of that nature. Such ignorance and intolerance makes me furious. So the initial idea was to bomb around images such as this one, and shove these images of beauty into the faces of the ignorant. i also plan on making stickers to slap on the bumpers of these idiots who actually believe that only men and women can/should love each other. it just so happened though that i got into an exhibition that these pieces seemed perfect for, so that jump-started the series. here's a link in info for the exhibition itself: "Lavender Tears".

Andy Irons' Moving Memorial - Kauai - 11/14/2010 (Paddle-Out VIDEO)

(video via Surfers Village)

Philip Andrew Irons (July 24, 1978 – November 2, 2010) was a professional surfer. Irons learned to surf on the dangerous and shallow reefs of the North Shore in Kauai, Hawaii. Over the course of his professional career, he won three world titles (2002, 2003, 2004), three Quiksilver Pro France titles (2003, 2004, 2005), two Rip Curl Pro Search titles (2006 and 2007) and 20 elite tour victories including the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing four times from 2002-2006. On September 3, 2010 he won the Billabong Pro in Tahiti. He and his family hosted the Annual Irons Brothers Pinetrees Classic, a contest for youngsters. The Governor of Hawaii declared February 13 forever "Andy Irons Day". He is the only surfer to have won a title at every venue on the ASP calendar.

Irons died on November 2, 2010; according to The Association of Surfing Professionals, "he had reportedly been battling with dengue fever, a viral disease."

A memorial service was held November 14th in Hanalei Bay, Kauai. His wife Lyndie and brother Bruce, scattered his ashes outside Hanalei Bay where thousands of family, friends and admirers said their last goodbyes.

Rival surfer and friend Kelly Slater dedicated his November 6, 2010 victory to Irons. "I just want to send my condolences to Andy's family," Slater said. "I'm a little overwhelmed right now but I want to dedicate this to Andy... It's like exact opposites. This doesn't really offset that, I'd give this title away in a second if Andy could come back."

Irons married Lyndie Dupuis on November 25, 2007 in Princeville, Kauai. She was seven months pregnant with their first child at the time of his death.

Tegan and Sara - The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)

A couple of years ago, in a clip about the “How To” With Q guitar series, Sara Quin suggested that in order to play her “Walking With A Ghost” properly, you should make your voice sound “a bit like a Chipmunk and a bit like Cindy Lauper.” So, that in mind, her and her sister’s cover of Alvin And The Chipmunks’ perennial Holiday favorite “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)” shouldn’t be all that surprising. (Jars Of Clay’s take = more of a curve ball.) T & S’s version shows up on the 21-song compilation Gift Wrapped II: Snowed In.

The Wonderful World of Fil Dunsky

All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” Looking at the bright, naïve, funny, highly detailed and live-colored illustrations by Fil Dunsky, a 25-years old Russian illustrator, it seems this man of art has managed to find the key to unlock the problem once stated by his style guru – Pablo Picasso. Describing his style of illustrations, Fil says: “It is like marmalade: sweet, childish, positive, cheerful… It is like a 5-years old child sitting on the ground and playing with colors and forms”. Being already a well-established yet instantly progressing graphic illustrator with the solid portfolio of completed works for many local and world-known trademarks, such as Wrigley, Milka, Coca-Cola, Beeline, Fil Dunsky enjoys the freedom of freelance work from his own studio in the Far East Russian city of Vladivostok.
